Summer breakfast ideas

Good morning sweet ladys and gentlemen,

some people say "the early bird catches the worm". Well, i was never one of those early birds. Laying in bed as long as possible and then rushing to school without any breakfast. During time I realized that waking up early in the morning is not even that bad. So nowadays I am literally celebrating my mornings. The key to that is a healthy and delicious breakfast. For my breakfast I love to have fresh fruits, sometimes porridge and of course always a huge cup of tea.
I wanted to share my four favourite breakfast ideas with you to get you in a good mood to start your day!

1. Porridge with one mashed banana and some berrys on top

2. Soy yoghurt with fresh mango and some sprinkles of blueberry and blackberry

3.Crunchy gluten free granola with almond milk, apricot slices and again blackberry

4.Greek yoghurt with a sprinkle of cinnamon, nectarine and homemade honey

To wake me up I also have a cup of either black tea with milk or a light green tea with jasmine...sometimes I also treat myself to some decadent hot chocolate. Hopefully these ideas could help you to be a bit more enthusiastic about waking up in the morning and starting your day with a clear mind and lots of power.

Cinnamon Waffles

Hello sweet ladys and gentlemen,

It was one of those mornings on a cold and rainy sunday when you wake up late and feel like having some fancy waffles so that the whole house smells like cinnamon, vanilla and coffee.
This is my favourite waffle recipe. They are sweet and fluffy and the heavenly taste of cinnamon and vanilla brings it all to perfection.
Accompanied by fresh fruit and berrys or some strawberry jam these waffles bring any sunday brunch or afternoon tea to a whole other level. These are very qick and easy to make so if you feel like having some freshly baked waffles now, here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

200g  unsalted butter
5        eggs
250g  flour
170g  sugar
1ts     baking powder
1-2ts cinnamon
1ts    vanilla extract

Preparation:

In a medium sized mixing bowl stir your eggs, butter and sugar until it gets light and creamy. Then, go ahead put vanilla extract and cinnamon in the mixture and give it another good stir until it is all incorporated. Now you can add flour and baking powder and mix it well.
Set it aside and let it sit there for about 10-15 minutes. Meanwhile you can heat up your waffle maker and lightly grease it. Then, you want to put 1-2 tb of the batter in each mold and bake it until the waffles are golden brown.
They are best if you serve them still warm and with fresh fruit/berrys, jam or nutella.

Flying Tapas for Dinner

Hello my sweet ladys and gentlemen,

Have you ever been to a "Flying Tapas" restaurant? Well, me neither until yesterday.
Now you might ask: What even is a "Flying Tapas" restaurant? Now, such a restaurant is the most amazing thing in the world. They don't only have super delicious tapas (which are little spanish snacks and finerfood of its finest) but there are waiters "flying" around with huge trays full of different kinds of tapas. The restaurant was called "Terneria" and it is situated in the old town with a terrace by the water.

So let me just give you a hint of the divine treats we ate...
Let me start with the amazing drinks. We had an excellent Caipirinha and then a so called Liquido which basically consists of quince juice, fresh lime juice, mint and soda. I have never had such a combintion but let me tell you that it was so so good and sweet and sour in taste. Very refreshing!
To eat, we first had some Baguette with fresh aioli dip and some green and black olives. Then, the first waiter came and we picked some grilled dates that were wrapped in delicious, crispy bacon. At this point they defeniteley got me hooked already.
After that, another waiter came by and we picked some thinly sliced roastbeef that was perfectly pink in the middle and as soft as a Baby's bottom so that it literally just melted in my mouth and it was sprinkeled with grilled chanterelles and basil pesto...fireworks in my mouth.
Oh dear mother of tapas could it get any better, might you ask?! Defeniteley yes!
Later we ate the most transcendent butterfly shrips on a bed of a magnificent spicy and fruity tomato salsa. These shrimps were crispy and golden brown on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. In combinatin with the salsa it was just heaven on a plate.
After several more delightfully delicious little canapés we decided to round it all up with a dessert.
They offered either "crema catalana" which is basically a spanish crème brullé and "crema chocolate".
We both went for the "crema chocolate" and let me tell you here, we were not disappointed at all. The dessert was very rich, perfectly sweet and chocoatey, topped with whipped cream and caramelized almonds.

My resolution after my first ever "Flying Tapas" experience? Mind blown. If you schould ever get the chance to visit such a restaurant, defeniteley do it. You won't be disappointed.

Dreamy "Lemon Drizzle Cake"

Hello sweet ladys and gentlemen,

When life gives you lemons...make a  Lemon Drizzle cake out of it. Lemon Drizzle cake has been my favourite cake for years now. I love all about it: It is moist and fluffy, it tastes sweet and sour at the same time and the thin layer of crisp lemon frosting..its heaven in my mouth. Delihtfully delicious.

So grab yourself some fresh lemons and go bake a Lemon Cake. It's not only a beautiful way to relax or a great way to urprise guests, it is also very quick and easy to make.

Ingerdients:

4        Eggs
2        Lemons
220g  Butter
220g  Sugar
270g  Flour
1pk   Baking powder
         Powdered Sugar

Preparation:

First of all, preheat your oven to 180°C and lightly grease a cake tin and set it aside.
Then grab a large mixing bowl and put the eggs, softened butter and sugar in it and stir with a handmixer until it is fluffy and creamy.
Then put the zest of two lemons and the juice of half a lemon over the mixture. Give it another good stir.
Then mix the flour with the baking powder and gradually mix that with your egg mixture until it has a creamy consistency.
Then pour the batter into the greased cake tin and pop that into the oven for about 40 minutes.
While the cake is in the oven, go ahead and squeeze the lemons into a small bowl and mix the juice with one tablespoon of powdered sugar.
When the cake is out of the oven, prick the cake all over with a fork and then drizzle a little bit of the lemon juice over the top. (Be careful here, you don't want it to get slimy so please don't use too much of the juice)
Then add powdered sugar to the juice and mix it with a spoon until it gets creamy. Then pour this heavenly deliciousness over your cake and let it cool for about one and a half hour.

Now you can enjoy your cake just by itself or with some fresh raspberries and a nice cup of tea. :)
